Market House Exhibition  Call for Submissions

The Dunlavin Arts Festival invites painters, printmakers and sculptors to submit work for consideration to be shown in the Market House Exhibition 2023.
 


The exhibition offers the following prizes and awards:
  • An Overall Award for Outstanding Work
  • The Dunlavin Arts Festival Award for the Best Small Painting
  • The Dunlavin Arts Festival New Generation Award 

How to Submit

Submissions are online only, after which selected works should be delivered to Market House, Dunlavin for inclusion in the exhibition.

Important Dates

Call for entries: 1 March — 2 June 2023

  • Artwork drop off: 10 June 2023 (11am–4pm)

  • Exhibition opens: 16 June 2023

  • Exhibition closes: 18 June 2023

  • Collection of unsold work: 18 June 2023

Conditions

  • Maximum of six works submitted, maximum of two works selected.

  • Works should be no larger than 60cm along the longest dimension.

  • Price of works must include commission of 25%.

  • Paintings, drawings and prints must be suitably framed.

Delivery & Collection

  • Uncollected work on the specified collection date/s will be stored at a separate location. The Committee cannot be responsible for any work not collected on these dates. Although your works will be treated with the utmost care, the festival committee will not be liable for damage or loss by fire or otherwise. The artist should therefore effect insurance.

  • Name and address of the artist, title and price must be noted on the back of the work. 

  • Please note that committee decisions are final and unfortunately we are unable to offer feedback.

Prizes & Awards (subject to final confirmation)

We have a number of awards and prizes to win, including:

  • The Overall Award: For an outstanding work, in any medium. Presented by Tanco. Value €500.

  • The Dunlavin Arts Festival Award for the Best Small Painting: For a work in any medium measuring no more than 30 cm along the longest dimension (excluding frame). Made possible by Karen Brownlee Architects. Value €300.

  • The Dunlavin Arts Festival New Generation Award: The successful artist will receive €250. Open to all artists aged 35 or under at the time of submission. Made possible by Hang Tough Contemporary.
